CRICKET TRAVEL INSURANCE FOR PLAYERS TOURING & TRAINING ABROAD

Cricket Travel Insurance from Yellow Jersey is designed for amateur players travelling overseas where cricket is the primary purpose of their trip. Whether you’re travelling for a club or school tour, county or representative cricket, an international tournament, cricket academy or pre-season training camp, our specialist policy provides cover designed specifically for organised cricket travel.

Unlike standard travel insurance, which may exclude organised sport or provide limited cover, our Cricket Travel Insurance can include protection for emergency medical expenses, sports equipment, trip cancellation, travel disruption and more, subject to the policy wording. That means you can focus on enjoying your cricket, knowing you have cover designed for the trip you’ve travelled to take.

Why choose specialist cricket travel insurance?

If you’re travelling overseas to play cricket, your insurance should protect more than just your flights and accommodation. Cricket tours often involve organised training sessions, coaching camps, practice matches and competitive fixtures, and there’s also the risk that an injury before you travel could prevent you from taking part altogether. Choosing specialist cricket travel insurance means you’re protected before you leave and throughout your trip, with cover including cancellation if you’re unable to travel due to an insured injury or illness, emergency medical expenses, sports equipment and travel disruption, subject to the policy terms and conditions.

Ask yourself two questions about your current travel insurance –

Does it cover me if the primary purpose of my trip is to play cricket?

e.g. pre-season cricket camp

Does my travel insurance cover me for overseas cricket tours?

e.g. Barbados cricket week

Most standard travel insurance policies are not designed for cricket players. If cricket is the main purpose of your trip, it is often excluded entirely or only covered in very limited circumstances.

Our cricket travel insurance is different. It is built specifically for players travelling abroad to train or compete, providing cover that reflects the realities of cricket tours, training camps and overseas competition.

With cricket travel insurance, you benefit from cover that applies when cricket is the primary reason for your trip, including medical treatment for cricket-related injuries, protection for essential kit, and trip cancellation or curtailment if injury or illness prevents you from playing.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN YOUR CRICKET TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Depending on the level of cover you choose, benefits may include:

  • Medical and emergency treatment for cricket-related injuries abroad
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation if required
  • Cover for essential cricket kit and equipment
  • Trip cancellation or curtailment due to injury or illness
  • Personal liability cover
  • 24/7 emergency assistance while overseas

All cover is subject to policy terms, conditions and limits.

Simple cover, built around how cricket trips actually work.

FLEXIBLE COVER OPTIONS

Sports trips rarely fit neatly into standard travel insurance. That’s why our policies include flexible options for couples, families and young athletes.

Spectator-only cover
Family members travelling to support an athlete don’t need to pay for sports participation cover they won’t use.

Accompanied minors
Parents can arrange cover for accompanied minors without needing to insure themselves on the same policy, provided the child is travelling with a responsible adult.

Couples & families
Reduced pricing for additional travellers because more people on one policy doesn’t automatically mean double the risk.

Annual or Short Term

A Travel lots, pay less

Committing to an annual policy can often work out better value than buying cover for each trip, while still keeping you protected for every overseas cricket tour or training camp abroad.

Plus, our policies can cover multiple sports, so you could be set for your summer cricket tour and still have cover ready for your winter skiing trip; no last-minute insurance scramble required.

B No commitment

Not travelling all the time, or not ready to sign up for a full year? No worries. Our short-term, single-trip policies might cost a little more per trip, but they give you all the flexibility you need and the same handy suite of covers as our annual travellers.

Standard travel insurance does not always cover cricket, particularly if playing cricket is the main reason for your trip. Many standard policies exclude organised sport, training camps, tournaments and representative matches.

Yellow Jersey’s specialist cricket travel insurance is specifically designed for players travelling abroad where cricket is the primary purpose of the trip. This includes organised cricket tours, training camps, coaching programmes and competitive matches, subject to the policy terms and conditions.

Travelling abroad to play cricket presents risks that standard holiday insurance may not cover. Medical treatment for sports injuries, lost cricket equipment and cancellation due to injury are all situations that require specialist protection.

Cricket travel insurance provides cover designed specifically for players travelling overseas to train or compete, giving you confidence that you’re insured for the activities you’ve travelled to take part in.

Yes. Our Cricket Travel Insurance is designed for players travelling overseas to take part in cricket tours, tournaments, training camps and organised matches where cricket is the primary purpose of the trip.

Whether you’re travelling with a club, school, university or academy team, or organising your own cricket holiday, our policy can provide cover for a wide range of cricket trips. Popular destinations include Barbados, South Africa, Spain, Portugal and the UAE, as well as tours and tournaments across Europe and further afield.

Depending on the level of cover you choose, benefits can include emergency medical expenses, cancellation, baggage, sports equipment and more. Always check the policy wording to ensure your destination, activities and level of competition are covered.

Yes. Cricket isn’t just about match day. Practice sessions, net sessions, coaching drills and organised team training are all important parts of preparing for competition.

Provided cricket is the primary purpose of your trip, these activities are covered under the policy.

Yes. Cricket Travel Insurance is suitable for junior players travelling overseas to take part in organised school tours, club tours, academy programmes and youth cricket tournaments where cricket is the primary purpose of the trip.

We also offer cover for accompanied minors and a Spectator Only option for parents, guardians and other family members travelling to support junior players. As always, cover is subject to the policy wording, terms, conditions and eligibility criteria.

Yes. Cricket Travel Insurance can cover amateur county age-group players, county pathway programmes and representative teams travelling overseas for cricket tours, tournaments, training camps and organised fixtures, provided cricket is the primary purpose of the trip and all policy terms are met.

Whether you’re representing your county, regional association, school, university or another amateur representative side, our policy is designed for organised overseas cricket trips. Please note that we do not cover professional or semi-professional players.

Our cricket travel insurance can cover trips to many popular cricket destinations around the world, including Australia, South Africa, Barbados, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain and the UAE.

Destination availability depends on your chosen policy and current travel advice.

Yes. Cricket Travel Insurance from Yellow Jersey includes cover for cricket equipment under the Sports Equipment section of the policy, subject to the policy wording, terms, conditions and applicable limits.

This can include essential cricket equipment such as bats, helmets, batting pads, gloves, wicket keeping equipment, cricket shoes and kit bags, helping to protect the equipment you rely on while travelling overseas for cricket tours, tournaments and training camps.

If your insured cricket equipment is accidentally lost, stolen or damaged during your trip, or your checked equipment is delayed by the airline, you may be able to claim under the relevant sections of the policy, subject to the policy terms and conditions.

If your checked cricket equipment is delayed by the airline, the Sports Equipment Emergency Hire benefit can help pay towards hiring essential replacement equipment so you can continue your tour.

This means you’re less likely to miss training sessions or matches because your own equipment hasn’t arrived.

If your insured cricket equipment is accidentally lost, stolen or damaged during your trip, you may be able to claim under the Sports Equipment section of the policy, subject to the policy terms, conditions and limits.

Always report thefts promptly and obtain any required documentation.

Yes. If you suffer a cricket-related injury while taking part in an insured activity overseas, the policy includes emergency medical and repatriation cover, subject to the policy wording.

This can help with emergency medical treatment and getting you home safely if medically necessary.

If you’re unable to travel because of an insured illness or injury before your departure date, cancellation cover may reimburse your unused, non-refundable travel costs, subject to the policy terms.

This can provide valuable protection when you’ve booked expensive cricket tours well in advance.

Yes. The policy is designed for individual travellers, so each player simply purchases their own cover.

Whether you’re travelling with your club, school, academy or representative side, each traveller should have their own individual policy.

Yes. If your family are accompanying you on your cricket trip but are not taking part in cricket themselves, they don’t need cricket cover. Instead, they can be included under our Spectator Only option, which provides travel insurance designed for companions travelling to support or watch.

This means the whole family can travel together on the same trip, with the cricket player insured for their sporting activities and accompanying family members covered as spectators. It’s an ideal solution for parents travelling with junior players, partners accompanying club tours or families combining a cricket tour with a holiday.

Alternatively, if family members are also participating in cricket or another insured sport, they should select the appropriate sports cover for their own activities.

Yes. If you regularly travel overseas to play cricket, an annual multi-trip policy can often provide better value than buying separate single-trip policies.

This is particularly useful for players attending multiple tours, training camps or overseas tournaments throughout the year.

These trips often combine intensive training with friendly matches and coaching sessions, all of which are intended to be covered under the policy.
