Free Your Ride

We believe riding a bike is one of the best things in life. Whether it’s for fun or for fitness, it’s all about getting out there and enjoying the ride.

Through our service and products we enable our customers to ride without any concerns.
We want you to concentrate on enjoying the ride, knowing that if anything should happen, we’re there to get you back on the bike.

Joining my local club helped me lose 6 stone, meet my wife and become an Ironman. It's fair to say cycling has truly changed my life.

Ryan Georgiades Managing Director

Yellow Jersey was started by three brothers, Ryan, Grant and Scott — we have been successfully running our family-owned insurance brokers for over 15 years. As active members of the cycling and triathlon community we were frequently asked what the best way to insure bicycles was. We knew that cycle cover on home insurance wasn’t always sufficient, but we were never confident recommending any of the existing cycling-specific policies to friends who owned multiple bikes, trained and raced TTs, criteriums and triathlons, or who were looking to take their bikes abroad. We thought things could be better, so in 2014 we started Yellow Jersey.

Everyone at Yellow Jersey has a passion for two wheels. Whether it’s road, mountain bike, triathlon or commuting, this passion transfers into our day-to-day work. We know what cyclists need as we too have those needs. The first question we ask is ‘would we use it?’, the second is ‘is it good value?’

We know that cyclists want to be on the bike as much as possible and dealing with insurance is probably the last thing on their mind. It’s our vision give you more time to ride. We do this by making insurance as easy and stress-free as we can.

Meet the Team

Ryan Georgiades Managing Director Ryan Georgiades

I’m the co-founder of Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance. When I first joined my local club, the Clapham Chasers, in 2009 I was 20 stone and heading for a heart attack. Cycling and triathlon truly changed my life. Over the next six years I went on a journey which saw me lose six stone, get married to a club mate, have two children and become an Ironman. I’m currently training for nothing in particular and desperately trying not to get back to 20 stone.

I really hope you like what we are doing at Yellow Jersey, we are genuinely passionate about our sport and business.

Scott Georgiades Creative Director Scott Georgiades

I’m a self-confessed handlebar tape snob with an unrelenting fetish for bikes made of steel, aluminium, carbon and titanium. I have a varied Palmares that includes epic Pyrenean Raids from Biarritz to Barcelona, road races, sportives, duathlons, track camps and challenging charity tours throughout Europe.

My biggest achievement to date is the creation of ‘The Waller Pain’ urban hill climb – a unique event that sees national standard hill climbers, team and club riders go head to head with dads on mountain bikes, mums on shopping bikes and kids on balance bikes…This event truly smiles an all-inclusive spirit throughout the cycling community.

Grant Georgiades Director Grant Georgiades

Hi I am a ginger Greek, gluten free, cyclist. I’m a level two British Cycling coach, and until recently the chair of The Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome charity, which is a local venue extremely close to my heart.

I love being a member of Crystal Palace triathlon club and hope one day to be better than my two older brothers at both running and cycling!

Emily Conrad-Pickles Head of Marketing Emily Conrad-Pickles

The best thing I ever did was buy myself a bike back in 2011 and I’ve never looked back. I’ve dabbled in triathlon managing a few middle and standard distance GB Age Groups races and completed Ironman Zurich. My most recent cycling adventure was a 20,000km ride from London to Cape Town raising nearly £30k for World Bicycle Relief.

I’m currently mainly riding a turbo while I am off on maternity leave but I am looking forward to getting back out into the hills very soon.

Tom McMorrin Business Development Manager Tom McMorrin

I head up the Business Development department having recently joined the team from a city insurance job, in search of a new lease of life. Yellow Jersey seemed like a great fit; cycling, business development and insurance (I even have the qualifications to prove – why else would you do them). I’m allowed to let my mind wander on a range an interesting concepts, improving the products we offer to customers and businesses. If you want to discuss you next cycling idea, just pick up the phone.

I used to row a lot before the real world caught up with me back in 2013. Cycling was the obvious compromise after that; along with some swimming, running & yoga.

Will Leedham Digital Marketing Executive Will Leedham

I wasn’t given the choice as to whether or not I wanted to get into cycling. My family bike shop (Leedham’s Leicester) was founded in the 1850’s, and to avoid bringing dishonour to my ancestors, took up the two wheels out of reluctant duty. That said I do head out for the odd spin and know rather a lot about bikes.

I take care of YJ’s digital marketing among other things. Ever noticed those ads that seem to follow you round the internet and all over Facebook? Yep, I’m that guy.

Claire Burling Marketing Executive Claire Burling

I wear a number of different cycling caps at Yellow Jersey. I work with our affiliates, events programmes and social media channels so you might find yourself chatting to me on Twitter.

I’m a self-confessed gym bunny so when I’m not at the office you’re likely to find me at the squat rack or in a spin class – just as well, given that my other love in life is baking. Luckily the team are always happy to sample my bakes!

Definitely a leisure cyclist who enjoys cycling short distances at weekends and on holiday. My travel bucket list is forever growing and I hopefully will able to explore some of my dream destinations on two wheels.

Nicola Hewitt Senior Customer Experience Advisor Nicola Hewitt

Chances are if you call us up it will be me you speak to! I’m a keen badminton player who enjoys baking and if I need some fresh air, I’ll head out for a country walk – maybe with a tea and cake stop on the way. There are 6 bikes in my household (it’s just myself and my husband) – but only one of them is mine.

I am definitely a leisure rider but I do enjoy getting out on my bike for shorter rides. Although I may not be the next Laura Kenny, living with a cycling enthusiast I understand the importance of having a working bike (or three) for the right occasion. I really enjoy helping our customers

Matt Fricker Web Developer Matt Fricker

Being Yellow Jersey’s resident developer, I am a complete sucker when it comes to tech. When I am not churning out code, I enjoy taking in the fresh countryside air from the comfort of my saddle; clad in lycra.

A fellow Clapham Chaser back in the day, I enjoyed a few triathlons and running events. Of late cycling and running have taken a back seat whilst I settle into my newly appointed role of dad at home.
