Triathlon Travel Insurance

As the Official Supplier of British Triathlon, we developed our triathlon travel insurance triathletes cater for triathletes both at home and abroad.

From the local sprint triathlon while on holiday, to the Ironman World Champs, our triathlon travel insurance covers you for emergency medical expenses, repatriation to the UK and race fee cancellation, on top of all the other features you’d expect from a standard travel insurer.

Most mountain resorts only have private hospitals whilst state hospitals are few and far between in most of Spain and Portugal.

In much the same way as you by travel insurance for winter sports, we’ve made triathlon travel insurance simple and easy to understand. Buying travel insurance for triathlon has always been needlessly complicated, so our aim has been to make the cover we offer people taking part in a triathlon outside of the UK, absolutely clear.

Triathlon SPECIFIC or GENERIC TRAVEL?

As fellow triathletes we were very aware that standard travel insurance was not reflecting the needs of triathletes. We have worked with our customers to design a travel insurance which fits the needs of triathletes, without sacrificing any aspect of a standard travel insurance products.

We realised most people were unaware of the restrictions on insurance policies provided by standard holiday insurance providers. If you’re racing in the Ironman World Champs or simply training with a group, your regular travel insurance is likely inadequate.

If you are taking several trips over the course of the year, it may work out as better value to take out an annual policy.

Annual or Short Term

A Travel lots, pay less

By spreading the risk over 12 months, we can reduce the rates for you, while still providing cover for every race, holiday and training camp you enjoy abroad.

Our annual policies also include winter sports cover, so purchasing an annual travel insurance before your cycling trip in the summer could save you the hassle of finding another insurer before your skiing trip in the winter.

B No commitment

For those who don’t travel so frequently or don’t want the commitment we also offer short term, single-trip policies. Whilst these are obviously more expensive pro-rata, they offer great flexibility and the same cover afforded to regular travellers.

Discounts

With discounts available for Families and Couples, there is no need to purchase separate annual travel insurance if you’re not all going to be riding. If you travel with you partner we offer them a 50% discount.

For a family policy with two adults, your first child will be added to the policy for half the price, and any more will be added for free. The same discount is available for single parent families where you pay for one adult.

If you are organising a trip with your cycling club, our group discount allows parties of 5 – 10 people to travel on one policy with a 5% discount.

Since active people rarely confine themselves to a single discipline, our annual policies also include free winter sports cover.

Cycling travel insurance quotes are based on a 35-year-old single male traveller, and the maximum trip length for annual policies was set at 30 days for all policies where the option was given. The cycle travel insurance quotes are done on a similar level of cover to the Yellow Jersey cycle travel cover. Yellow Jersey cycling travel insurance offers a large variety of cycling and triathlon activities as standard, including ironman, mtb and BMX racing which are considered extreme sports by other providers.
